30 Days of Self-Care: Day 1
Posted on April 03 2019
Alright, alright, alright.
First of all (in my Kevin Hart voice) I started this challenge late. I already addressed it with the beautiful brown girls on my email list but I wanted to mention it here as well. We cool? Ok, great. Let's keep it going.
Now this is what's going down on the challenge. Today, and for the next 29 days, I'll be posting ways that I practice self-care. These aren't undoable things that will take a ton of time and effort to complete. They aren't wild and crazy things that cost hundreds of dollars. These are simple, easy, quick things that will hopefully inspire and encourage you to practice self-care every day too.
I want to shout out some of the ladies that emailed me and let me know they too would be joining along: Myesha, Princess, Emelle, Shaunte, Kristin and Aai'sha I appreciate you riding with me on this.
Alright, here we go!
Day 1: Write down some of the things I'd like to do for myself during this challenge.
I figured this would be my first day because it never hurts to map out a few things I'd possibly enjoy doing as a form of self-care. Here are a few things I came up with:
- Go to bed 30 minutes early
- Make lavender oil
- Clean out/organize purse
- Watch my fave movie and laugh or cry as needed
- Budget my money for the month
- Stay off of social media for a day
- Do zero chores
- Hang out at home naked
- Get my nails done
- Make my bed
- Go outside and get some sun
To come up with this list it took maybe 5 minutes or less. I'm sure that I can and will come up with more but I wanted to show you how simple it can be to make myself a priority without having to spend to much time or money.
Joining the challenged and made your own list? I'd love to hear a few of the things you'll be doing! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. And be sure to join the newsletter list here so that you can keep up with the challenge.
